Vifloor Canada, along with representatives from Bentall Kennedy, Manulife Financial, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, Avison Young, and Brookfield Property Partners recently teamed up for an event that raised over $2.5 million in the battle to fight cancer.

The ScotiaBank Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer event is a Toronto-based, dawn-to-dusk event that features hundreds of road hockey games, live music and celebrity appearances. The top fundraising teams win the opportunity to draft a celebrity player or coach.

Former Toronto Maple Leaf and NHL referee Kevin Maguire, who is now head of sales for National Restorations Inc., with goaltender Michael Chisolm, sales consultant at Vifloor Canada.

Our team, The Op’s Monkeys, played in the commercial real estate division, which raised over $86,000 this year. The Op’s Monkeys were the division leaders, raising $22,457.00 and were the 25th highest fundraisers overall.

As we were 25th, The Op’s Monkeys drafted ex Toronto Maple Leaf and NHL referee Kevin Maguire who is now head of sales for National Restorations Inc. – who pleasantly found out his teammates were potential customers!

The ScotiaBank Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer event involved a total of 1,786 players and 150 teams. The over $2.5 million raised this year set the world record for the number of players and funds raised in a road hockey tournament.
